Kota Bridge, Klang
Kota Bridge, Klang or Jambatan Kota, Klang is the first double-decked bridge in Malaysia. It is located in Klang, Selangor.
==History==
The bridge was constructed between 1958 and 1960 and it was a reinforced steel truss girder bridge. The bridge was officially opened in 1961 by the late Sultan of Selangor, Almarhum Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Shah in conjunction with his coronation as the ninth Sultan of Selangor. In the 1990s, due to the high capacity traffic with the upgrading of the Federal Highway Route (Klang - Kuala Lumpur) into six lane carriageway toll highway from 1991 to 1993. The double-decked bridge was closed to traffic and the new concrete bridge with six lane carriageway was built beside the original double-decked bridge.
